Lagos Mainland Chairman Presents Official Vehicles to Councillors, Distributes Ounje Èmí Food Palliative Phase 12

The Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Hon. Emilagba Kolawole Jubril, on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, presented official vehicles to members of the Legislative Arm and distributed Phase 12 of the Ounje Èmí Food Palliative programme.

The ceremony, held at the council secretariat, was well attended by political leaders, Baales, Community Development Associations (CDAs), Community Development Committees (CDCs), council management and staff, and party faithful.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Jubril said the presentation of the vehicles is a strategic investment in efficient administration and effective governance.

"Today marks another significant milestone in our administration's commitment to effective service delivery, improved governance and the welfare of our people," he said.

"The presentation of these official vehicles to the Legislative Arm is a strategic investment in efficient administration. We expect that these vehicles will enhance mobility, strengthen supervision and enable our officials to discharge their responsibilities more effectively."

The Chairman said the distribution of Ounje Èmí Food Palliative Phase 12, tagged Renewed Hope for Artisans and Traders, demonstrates his administration's resolve to cushion economic hardship.

"Equally important is the distribution of Ounje Èmí Food Palliative Phase 12, a programme that reflects our unwavering commitment to easing the economic burden on residents. From Phase 1 to Phase 12, our resolve remains firm, to ensure that the benefits of governance reach the grassroots and that no effort is spared in supporting our people," he stated.

He stressed that good governance must be measured by tangible impact rather than promises, assuring that his administration will continue to implement initiatives that strengthen institutions, support workers and bring relief to communities.

Hon. Jubril thanked stakeholders for their support and called for sustained momentum towards building a more responsive, inclusive and prosperous Lagos Mainland.

On the forthcoming general elections, the Chairman urged residents to obtain their Permanent Voter's Cards (PVCs) and participate peacefully.

"I encourage every eligible voter to obtain their Permanent Voter's Card where necessary, come out peacefully to exercise their civic responsibility and make an informed choice at the polls," he said.

He also canvassed support for the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

"For those who support the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, I urge you to express your preference through your votes," he added.

In his remarks, the member representing Lagos Mainland Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Rasheed Shabi, described the Chairman as one of the foot soldiers of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and challenged residents to triple the figures recorded in the last election.

He urged beneficiaries to come out en masse and vote massively for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Similarly, the APC Chairman in Lagos Mainland, Prince John Fagba, implored artisans to use their votes to secure their future and attract more prosperity and dividends of democracy.

He urged all residents of Mainland to come out en masse, cast their votes and stay until the counting process is completed, stressing that the election is crucial for continuity.

Part of the Chairman's gesture at the event was a dancing competition where winners were empowered. The first runner-up went home with a deep freezer, the second runner-up with a sewing machine, while two third-place winners received a gas cylinder and cartons of noodles respectively.

The presentation of car keys to the legislators and distribution of Ounje Èmí Palliative Phase 12 formed the highpoint of the event.
