The attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Lagos State, has been drawn to a report aired on ARISE News this morning during the What's Trending segment, presented by Orji Okpe, alleging that the display of the Register of Voters did not take place at some Registration Area centres in Alimosho and Shomolu Local Government Areas.
The Commission wishes to categorically state that the report is false and does not reflect the actual situation.
For the avoidance of doubt, the display of the Register of Voters was conducted across all 245 Registration Areas (Wards) in Lagos State, including all Registration Areas in Alimosho and Shomolu Local Government Areas.
The Commission therefore urges members of the public to disregard this misleading report and obtain accurate information through INEC's official communication channels.
INEC Lagos State also urges media organizations and practitioners to verify information from credible and authoritative sources before disseminating it to the public. Responsible journalism and accurate reporting are essential to preventing the spread of misinformation and maintaining public confidence in the electoral process.
