Rite Foods Limited, a leading consumer packaged goods company in Nigeria’s food and beverage industry, has reported notable progress across its Environmental, Social, and Governance, ESG, operations in 2025, with reduced resource consumption, increased community investment, and stronger job creation in host communities.
Speaking to journalists in Lagos while presenting the company’s 2025 sustainability highlights, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Mr. Ekuma Eze, said the company reduced water usage by 15% and improved energy use efficiency by 7% within the year.
On waste management, Eze said over 42 tonnes of plastic were recovered from coastal areas in 2025. In total, 58.2 tonnes of plastic waste were recovered across all company operations during the period.
In the social space, Rite Foods invested N581.92 million in social investment programmes in 2025, representing a 50% increase compared to 2024. Key projects included the construction of an ICT Centre in Ososa, Ogun State.
The company also supported women empowerment initiatives, provided free water to essential workers, and made donations to the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital.
On human capital, employee headcount in Odogbolu Local Government Area increased by 4.1%. The company currently has 3,000 direct employees and supports 12,000 indirect jobs across its value chain. In 2025, 34 employees volunteered for community outreach programmes as part of the firm’s training and capacity-building initiatives.
Under governance, the company said it strengthened corporate governance structures, internal control systems, and enterprise risk management to ensure transparency and accountability.
Officials noted that the results reflect Rite Foods’ commitment to balancing business growth with environmental stewardship and sustainable community development.
