The Customs Area Controller, Niger/Kogi Area Command, Comptroller Muhammad Sani Umar, mni, paid a courtesy visit to the State Director, Department of State Services (DSS), Kogi State Command, Mr. Aliyu Bashir, fsc+, mnim, on 17th June 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and enhance security operations within the State.
During the visit, Comptroller Umar emphasized the importance of synergy, intelligence sharing and sustained collaboration between sister agencies. He noted that effective cooperation remains critical in addressing emerging security challenges, stressing that both agencies need one another to achieve their mandates.
The Customs Area Controller further highlighted the role of joint efforts in monitoring the inflow and outflow of goods and persons, adding that improved coordination would significantly boost national security and economic protection.
In his response, the DSS State Director, Mr. Aliyu Bashir, appreciated the visit and reaffirmed the commitment of the Service to continued collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service. He emphasized the need to extend this relationship beyond the leadership level to include officers at the operational and field levels.
He also encouraged sustained interaction and cooperation between personnel of both agencies to ensure seamless intelligence sharing and effective service delivery.
The visit concluded with a renewed pledge by both agencies to deepen partnership and strengthen security synergy across Kogi State.
