The war of attrition between Hon Kafilat Adetola Ogbara, a member of House of Representatives and Mrs. Samiat Abolanle Bada, Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, reared its ugly head again at the 60th birthday of Kunle Soname, Chairman of Bet9ja, ValueJet Airline, and pioneer Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, held in Ikenne, Ogun State, on Monday, April 27, 2026.
The high-profile event, which attracted dignitaries from across Nigeria—including Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ogun State, and his Lagos State counterpart, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu—was almost disrupted by a clash involving the two politicians and their aides.
Trouble started when Hon. Ogbara entered the event hall. While she was exchanging pleasantries with other dignitaries, Mrs. Bada suddenly appeared and attempted to remove the chair allocated to Ogbara from the front row. She was, however, vehemently resisted by Ogbara’s aide, Toyin.
This led to a heated argument between Mrs. Bada and Toyin. Mrs. Bada became visibly agitated—not only because Toyin resisted her attempt to remove the chair, but also because she confronted her. The situation soon degenerated into a free-for-all as some of Bada’s aides joined the fray.
All attempts by the Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Yemi Sodimu, to calm frayed nerves fell on deaf ears until security personnel were called in. One of Bada’s aides, however, remained unpacified and went on to confront Toyin again for daring to challenge his boss. This led to another scuffle, during which the aide’s clothes were torn. Security operatives intervened once more and eventually escorted those involved out of the venue.
The root cause of the rift between Hon. Ogbara and Mrs. Bada remains unclear. However, their feud became public knowledge last year when it was alleged that Hon. Ogbara was behind the release of a video showing Mrs. Bada’s gaffe on national television. Since then, there has been no love lost between the two politicians from Kosofe Local Government Area.
