Carabao Cup: Wembley Places on the Line
The Carabao Cup semi-finals reach their conclusion with two decisive second-leg fixtures as clubs push for a place at Wembley.
On Tuesday at 9:00 p.m., Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium holding a narrow 3–2 aggregate advantage. Arsenal come in with an emphatic 4–0 league win at Leeds that restored their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League, though that result followed a brief domestic wobble. Mikel Arteta’s side remain active on all fronts this season and continue their pursuit of silverware after a flawless Champions League league phase campaign.
Chelsea arrive in strong form under Liam Rosenior, having won five consecutive matches since the first leg, including a dramatic 3–2 comeback victory over West Ham United. The Blues will need a disciplined performance to overturn the deficit in a high-stakes London derby.
Wednesday’s second semi-final takes place at 9:00 p.m. as Manchester City welcome Newcastle United to the Etihad Stadium with a 2–0 aggregate lead. City have been difficult to beat in the competition but have shown signs of vulnerability in recent league outings, most recently drawing 2–2 with Tottenham Hotspur after surrendering a two-goal lead.

Milan come into the fixture eight points behind league leaders Inter following a draw with Roma and know victory is essential to keep the title race within reach. Bologna, meanwhile, are looking to recover from a disappointing home defeat to Genoa and will be without first-choice goalkeeper Łukasz Skorupski due to suspension. With Napoli also close behind, Milan cannot afford further dropped points.
