The Lagos State Public Service Club, under President Ambassador Olukayode Odunuga J.P., held its maiden Christmas Carols and 9‑Lesson service on Thursday, 11 December 2025 at the club premises in Sobo‑Arobiodu, Ikeja, GRA, Lagos. The event marked the club’s first year in office and gave thanks for God’s faithfulness throughout the year.
The event was well attended by top government officials including Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Barrister Bimbola Salu‑Hundeyin;Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende (represented by Lagos State Youth Chairman, Eng. Jubril Olalekan); Past club presidents, members, and other senior government officials
Barrister Salu‑Hundeyin praised the president and the executive team, urging members to live out Jesus’ teachings in their daily work and family life. She emphasized diligence and commitment as core values for public servants.
The president of the club Ambassador Olukayode Odunuga J.P said the gathering celebrated the Christmas season and the club’s one‑year anniversary. He thanked Governor Babajide Sanwo‑Olu and club patron Mr. Bode Agoro for their support, and appealed for continued assistance to accommodate the growing number of civil servants and retirees.
Odunuga then appealed to Civil Servants to continue to patronize the government own club because government has provided a good locations for members and facilities being sponsored by the state government.
In his charge the Rt. Read. Engr. Emmanuel Durowoju said Christmas message is a message of hope and a time for leaders to humble themselves and seek God because currently what Nigeria is going through is beyond human comprehension and its only when we seek God who is the author and finisher of our faith that we can have a true Nigeria where everybody live in peace and harmony. He then encouraged civil servants to be more dedicated,loyal and also work to make Nigeria a better place.
The representative of the commissioner for Youth and social development, Eng. Jubril Olalekan commended the president for pioneering this historic event and encouraged all civil servants to remain dedicated to nation‑building.
The program featured the 9‑lesson carol reading, special musical numbers by an invited choir, and dancing in praise of God.
