The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, has concluded arrangements to stage the 2025 Press Week. The event is scheduled to hold from Monday, November 24 to Sunday, November 30, 2025.
The Theme for Y2025 Press Week is "Unlocking Opportunities for Businesses in a Challenging Economy:
The Role of the Media/Roadmaps to Energy Security in Nigeria."
Speaking in Lagos, the NUJ Chairman, Mr. Adeleye Ajayi, said the week-long event provides an opportunity for journalists to relax and fraternise.
“Journalists are hardworking people and, as such, we should make out time to bond and celebrate one another.
“The Press Week is held once a year, and journalists should seize the opportunity to reconnect with one another.”
The Press Week will commence with a Health Walk on Monday, November 24, 2025, as journalists are expected to converge under the Ikeja Bridge by 7 a.m. This will be followed by various games at the NUJ Secretariat.
The Press Week Lecture will hold on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Captains of industry, media gurus, well-wishers, and students of journalism are expected to grace the occasion at the BOS Hall, LTV Complex, Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja by 10 a.m.
On Thursday, November 27, the Media Rendezvous will take centre stage from 4 p.m., giving chapels the opportunity to mingle, participate in cultural activities, including dancing and singing competitions, among others.
A Juma'at Service will hold on Friday 28 November at the Lagos State Secretariat Central Mosque, CBD, Alausa, Ikeja followed by a Gala/Awards night, during which carefully selected organisations and individuals who have carved a niche for themselves in their respective industries will be honoured at the BOS Hall, LTV Complex, Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja.
On Sunday, November 30, 2025, a Thanksgiving Service will hold at the Chapel of Christ the Light, CBD, Alausa, Ikeja, at 10 a.m., to appreciate God for a successful outing.
The NUJ expressed deep appreciation to its sponsors including Lotus Bank, Dangote Group, FrieslandCampina WAMPCO, UBA, and Stitches & Prints Limited for making this year’s celebration top-notch.
