The Institute of Security, Nigeria (ISN), held its 18th Annual International Security Conference and Investiture/Induction Ceremony on November 28, 2025, at the Faculty of Social Sciences Auditorium, University of Lagos. The conference, themed "Expanding Frontiers of Innovations in Security Enhancement and Nation Building in Nigeria," brought together high-profile dignitaries, security experts, academics, diplomats, and traditional rulers.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni was formally inducted as a Fellow of the Institute. Ambassador Oladunni, widely recognized for her contributions to diplomacy, intergovernmental relations, and global cooperation, currently serves as Aide to the Chairman, Sabré West Africa & Central Africa Region (Foreign Relations & Protocol), and Special Adviser on Foreign Relations & Head of Protocol, Pan African American Chamber of Commerce (PAACC).
The conference featured a keynote address by Ambassador Tukur Yusuf Buratai, CFR, retired Lieutenant General and former Chief of Army Staff, who emphasized the need for innovation, collaboration, and global best practices to strengthen Nigeria's security systems. Several eminent Nigerians were specially honoured, including His Excellency, Prof. Amb. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, CFR, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, and His Royal Majesty, Oba Prof. Amb. Saka Matemilola, Olowu of Owu Kingdom.
Ambassador Oladunni expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, stating, "I have received many awards, but this one from the University of Lagos and the Institute of Security Nigeria is a special privilege. I am the youngest in this category, and for me, it is more than a ceremonial honour—it comes with responsibility." She emphasized that the fellowship will further advance her professional competence in international security and conflict resolution.
The 18th Annual International Security Conference reinforced the need for collaboration between academia, security institutions, traditional leaders, and global partners in addressing Nigeria's evolving security challenges. For Ambassador Oladunni, the recognition marks another defining milestone in a career dedicated to diplomacy, development, and nation-building.
