The Executive Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Bayo Adefuye has taken a significant step towards fulfilling his campaign promises by initiating the reconstruction of Erejuwa Street in Makoko Community, Yaba, on September 19, 2025. The event saw Hon. Adefuye and his management team receive a warm welcome from community members eager to see the long-pending road project come to fruition.
Hon. Adefuye in his address emphasized the project is a direct fulfillment of promises made during his election campaign, addressing community concerns about poor road conditions.
The Executive Chairman of Yaba LCDA also said the construction includes proper drainage systems to prevent flooding and features grading, compaction, and durable asphalt surfacing for longevity.
He went futher that the project aims to boost economic activities, improve quality of life, enhance property values, and ensure safer movement within Makoko and Yaba.
Baale of Ilaje Makoko,High Chief Samuel Adebowale Erejuwa appreciated Hon. Adefuye for fulfilling his promise, promising community backing for his initiatives.
The leader of the community,Hon. Benson Filate Ifeoluwa,Commended Hon. Adefuye's support for various groups and advised residents to cooperate with contractors.
Prince Adekulujo Aladetan,the Chairman Community Development association of the area expressed happiness about the project happening during his tenure and assured support of the entire community.
Hon. Bayo Adefuye has outlined broader development plans for Yaba LCDA, including infrastructure development, youth empowerment, security enhancement, and improvements in education, healthcare, and agriculture, aiming to transform Yaba into "Yaba Tuntun" (New Yaba)
