A Sound from Heaven, Rooted in Africa: The Birth of AlujoHymn Fusion

By Segun Oluwayomi

In 1996, I had a life-changing encounter with God during a concert that redefined my purpose. From that moment, my saxophone was no longer for entertainment—it became a channel of worship and healing.

God gave me a sound—AlujoHymn Fusion—a unique genre that blends African praise rhythms with the soul-stirring depth of Christian hymns. Inspired by Colossians 3:16, I use every note to teach, worship, and minister grace.

Born in Ilorin, Kwara State, and trained in music at Obafemi Awolowo University, I now travel the world ministering in this unique style. Whether in person or through the airwaves, I’ve seen God heal cancer, lift burdens, and bring joy through this fusion of sound.

I’ve released three major albums and multiple singles. But more importantly, I’ve seen AlujoHymn Fusion become an altar of worship—where heaven touches earth and God speaks.

This is my life’s mission—to worship God with my heritage and my breath, and to draw others into His presence through sound.
