Muslims have been urged to live a simple good life filled with good deeds in preparation for the hereafter, the good deeds have also been termed to include having a proposed burial site in consonance with Islamic injunctions. This was made known by Fadilat Sheikh Sulaimon Farouk Onikijipa OON Grand Mufti Ilorin at the Lagos Mainland Muslim Community (Cemetery and Medical Project) annual Maqbara Lecture under the spiritual leadership of Imam of Lagos Mainland, Imam Thabit Lawal. He also applauded Lagos Mainland Muslim Community for the laudable project of owning and maintaining a Muslim burial ground.
While giving the other lecture on inheritance in Islam Sheikh Ismail Abdullateef admonished all parents on proper child upbringing as that will be the bedrock of all worldly inheritances, he also outlined the persons entitled to inheriting properties in Islam and the conditions attached to it.
Participants present at the lecture had the opportunity of getting free medical check up with the dispensation of appropriate medication and blood donation by medically certified persons
While speaking to journalists, the project Chairman Alhaji Chief Ganiu Jimoh-Faari urged all well meaning Muslims to support this noble cause for the sake of Allah and humanity while assuring them of Islamic compliant practices.
In his comments, the PRO Ogun state Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, representing the Commissioner of Police commended the cemetery project as it is certain that all souls will taste death and it is only proper for practicing Muslims to be buried according to Islamic rites
