His Eminence Samuel Uche Bows Out As Methodist Church Prelate As Oliver Ali Aba Takes Over

The Methodist Church Nigeria on the 13th November 2022 Invest The Most Rev.Dr Oliver Aba as the 4th Prelate Methodist Church Nigeria at the Methodist Church Tinubu Lagos.

The service has dignitaries in attendance including the Vice President of Nigeria His Excellency Yemi Osinbajo represented by Pastor Seyi Malomo;The Wife of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress Apc,Senator Oluremi Tinubu; The Governor of Benue State,His Excellency Samuel Ortom;His Deputy, His Excellency Benson Abounu; The Wife of the Lagos State Governor; Her Excellency Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; The Wife of Ogun State Governor; Her Excellency Mrs Abiodun; The wife of the Osun State Governor,Her Excellency Mrs Oyetola; The Presidential Candidate Of Labour Party,His Excellency Peter Obi and Many Others. 

In his sermon the Prelate Emeritus, His Eminence Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche advised the new Prelate that the voice of Methodist Church Nigeria must always be heard that he should not live in fair.

He said he must be prayerful,rethink of the word of God day and night,be courageous, focus to maintain Methodist Church as the first Church in Nigeria.

The Prelate Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Oliver Aba while speaking to Dconnectnews said the foundation has been laid already which he is going to build on to take the Church to the next level.

He said he will work on the 4 points agenda of the Prelate Emeritus and add strength to it to fight indiscipline and corruption in the Church of God, he will also go into Ventures that will give the Church Financial Strength which something will be coming in for the Church.

He also advised Nigerians to love one another and agree together to call a spade a spade and do what is right which he believes that there is hope for Nigerians. 

The Representative of the Vice President of Nigeria,Pastor Seyi Malomo who is the Senior Special Adviser to the Vice President on Chaplainsm said his Excellency Yemi Osinbajo congratulated the Church on the Investiture and the fact that the transition was smooth and it is a sign of hope as hope as Methodist Church the father of all churches and the first church to come to Nigeria and for them to have the transition on the eve of the year of election they believe it is a sign of hope that it will be well with Nigeria, he believes that there will be ease in the transition and the peace of God will reign in the country. 

The Deputy Governor of Benue State His Excellency Benson Abounu also eulogized the Prelate of Methodist Church as an epitome of humility and a man of God to the core. He said he is someone that is selfless in all his dealings, somebody that shows a lot of respect and maintains a good relationship with all asunder irrespective of their political class or even their social status, he believes he is a true man of God which he is also the First Prelate that will come from the northern extraction and a true history has been made.

He then prayed for him that God should give him the enablement to provide fruitful and useful leadership to the Methodist Church Nigeria,the premier Church in Nigeria.

His Eminence Oliver Aba was born on the 27th May,1960 to the family of Late Mr &Mrs Audu Aba,both of Ogbadibo Olachagbaha in Ogbadibo Local Government Area in Benue State.

He was enthroned the Bishop of Apa in 2003,and elected the Archbishop of Benue in 2013 and was enthroned in 2014 and after a kneels contested electoral college for the election of the Prelate Methodist Church Nigeria on the 14th August 2022 with Thirty One other shortlisted Episcopates he emerged winner being the first to ever be elected Prelate from Northern Nigeria since 1842..
