The attention of the Management of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) has been drawn to a false publication making rounds on WhatsApp by one Ajayi G.O, claiming to be a director in LASUTH and giving guidelines on how to prevent the monkey pox disease.
The management of LASUTH wishes to state that this publication did not emanate from the management of LASUTH.
It is not true that LASUTH now has or is treating a lot of cases of monkeypox. All suspected cases are sent to the Infectious Diseases Hospital, Yaba.
Members of the public are advised to be wary of the gamut of fake information emanating from different quarters about monkeypox and especially about the involvement of LASUTH in treatment.
What we have in place in LASUTH is a heightened surveillance system and a high index of suspicion. All suspected cases are promptly referred.
Signed:
LASUTH Management
