Judges of the Lagos State High Court will commence their annual vacation from July 25 to September 16, 2022.
A notice signed by the Acting Chief Registrar, Tajudeen Elias, said the Lagos State Chief Judge, Justice Kazeem Alogba, has approved the annual vacation pursuant to Order 49 Rule 4(D) of the High Court of Lagos Civil Procedure Rules 2019.
He explained that arrangements have, however, been made to entertain matters of urgency during the long vacation period.
According to him, four judges have each been assigned to adjudicate proceedings at the Ikeja Division and the Lagos Division, while two judges have been assigned to Badagry, Epe and Ikorodu Divisions of the High Courts during the vacation.
His words: “At the Ikeja Division, Justice O. A. Taiwo will be sitting from July 25 to August 5; Justice O. A. Okunuga, from August 8 to August 19; Justice A.O Adeyemi from August 22 to September 2 and Justice Y. R. Pinheiro from September 5 to September 16, 2022”.
“At the Lagos Division, Justice O. F. Aigbokhaevbo will sit from July 25 to August 5; Justice O. O. Martins from August 8 to August 19; Justice O. O. Oshin from August 22 to September 2; and Justice A. M. Ipaye-Nwachukwu from September 5 to September 16, 2022”, the Registrar said.
Speaking further, Elias said the Badagry Division will have Justice M.O. Dawodu from August 8 to August 19 and Justice B. O. Kalaro from August 22 to September 2, while the Epe Division will have Justice A.O. Idowu presiding from August 8 to August 19 and Justice I. O. Ojelu from August 22 and September 2, 2022.
He also revealed that at the Ikorodu Division, Justice O. A. Odusanya from August 8 to August 19 and Justice M. I. Oshodi from August 22 to September 2, 2022, adding that the 2022/2023 session commences on September 19 while the new legal year services will hold on September 26, 2022.
