HAJJ PILGRIMS WILL GET TRAVEL ALLOWANCE - COMMISSIONER

The Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju Elegushi, has assured the State's intending pilgrims embarking on the Y2022 Holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia that their Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) would be provided soon.

Prince Elegushi gave the assurance at the Hajj Camp, Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, while briefing the fourth batch of the intending pilgrims on the efforts of the State Government to facilitate the collection of their welfare allowance for the trip to the holy land.

He explained that there are still some conditions to be fulfilled before the travel allowances are released to beneficiaries.

The Commissioner appreciated the intending pilgrims for their understanding and cooperation, noting that the Sanwo-Olu administration would not take the gesture for granted.

With the safe arrival of the fourth batch in Saudi Arabia, Lagos State now has 1,598 pilgrims already airlifted to the Kingdom for the hajj exercise while efforts are still ongoing to airlift the remaining intending pilgrims in due course.
