LSCPWB SENSITISES STAFF ON PILGRIMAGE EXERCISE

Ahead of the proposed May 2021 Pilgrimage exercise, the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) has embarked on a sensitisation tour to various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the Lagos State Public Service to educate and enlighten staff on the exercise.

The Board Secretary (LSCPWB), Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, stated that the initiative is geared towards ensuring that civil servants are adequately informed and enlightened on the activities of the Board to encourage their patronage and, by extension, their families and friends.

According to her, the Board had enjoyed a lot of referrals from civil servants in the past and is determined to encourage more of it from State government employees, saying "Charity begins at home hence our tour of MDAs. If outsiders are patronising us and enjoying the Pilgrimage Exercise packages offered by the State Government, why can't civil Servants do same".

Speaking on the importance of the exercise, Mrs. Gbafe said that it is of immense spiritual benefit to all Christians as many Pilgrims, who had experienced the holy journey to Israel, have testified to harvesting a lot of blessings on their return home.

While imploring civil servants to patronise the Agency and also send in referrals, she disclosed that the total package price for the one-in-a-lifetime experience is pocket friendly with a lot of value-added benefits, noting that the exercise can also be gifted to aged parents and loved ones, particularly for birthdays and wedding anniversary.

The Secretary revealed that the total cost of the Pilgrimage Exercise to Israel is N835,000 while to Rome or Greece is N1,000,000, pointing out that instalment payment as low as N20,000 is also allowed.

Some of the MDAs visited during the tour include Lagos State Water Corporation, Public Works Bureau, LASPARK, LASPEC, LAWMA, LASEPA, Agency for Mass Literacy, LSTMB, LASRAB and LSMTL among others.
