The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) has appealed to all intending pilgrims to remain patient, stressing that as soon as there is clearance from the holy cities for the pilgrimage exercise all pilgrims will be airlifted.
The Board Secretary (LSCPWB), Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, made the appeal on Monday at the Old Secretariat, GRA, lkeja, during her interaction with some of the intending pilgrims who were to have embarked on the pilgrimage exercise to Israel in Y2020 but were unable to travel due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Gbafe reiterated the concerted efforts by the State Government to ensure that the intending pilgrims are airlifted as soon as Israel opens its border for pilgrimage exercise, expressing her appreciation to the intending pilgrims for their understanding and preference for LSCPWB as the preferred choice for the pilgrimage exercise.
“I understand and acknowledge your fears and concern on the possibility of you being able to perform the pilgrimage exercise again this year due to the pandemic. But l assure you that the State Government is doing everything possible to ensure that you are airlifted for the pilgrimage exercise as soon as the borders are open”, the Secretary said.
She gave an assurance that the money paid is very safe with the Board and conduct of the pilgrimage exercises in Lagos State will continue to be hitch-free, expressing optimism that the gradual decline in COVID-19 cases worldwide is very encouraging and, therefore, airlifting of the intending pilgrims might be earlier than anticipated.
The Board Secretary, therefore, implored everyone to continue praying that God in his infinite mercies should bring an end to the ravaging Coronavirus and restore peace and calm all over the world.
Recall that the first phase of the Medical and Administrative Screening for intending pilgrims to Israel was held on Tuesday, 15th December 2020, at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, towards ascertaining the medical fitness and ensuring that travel documents of passengers are in order with over 350 intending pilgrims in attendance.
