The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) in its efforts to ensure Universal Health Coverage (UHC) for the residents of the State, has urged its marketing agencies, sales managers and enrolment officers to discharge their duties effectively and efficiently to enhance service delivery as well as achieve better performance.

Speaking during a strategic session organised for the officers at STO Resource Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, the General Manager, Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, said that the officers should be alive to their responsibilities and ensure that residents in the State enrol on ‘ILERA EKO’ Health insurance plan.

She said it is mandatory for the residents in the State to have an insurance plan, adding that the LASHMA scheme will enable residents to live a healthy life and be more productive to contribute meaningfully to the development of the State.

The General Manager reiterated that the Lagos State Government is passionate about ensuring that residents in the State, irrespective of their social-economic class, have access to good, affordable, quality and effective healthcare.

She advised the officers to properly educate and enlighten the residents on the benefits of ILERA EKO Health Plan in order to ensure that residents have adequate knowledge of the plan and the Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS).

Commending the partners of the Agency for their support and assistance, Zamba implored them not to relent in their efforts towards ensuring that the Lagos State Government realised the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) for residents.

The Head, Business Development and Marketing, Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), Mr. Olatunji Rotimi, urged the participants to be polite and discharge their duties with sincerity and honesty.

He said that the participants are the point of contact of the residents either in the formal or informal sector, therefore, they should at all times uplift the image of the Agency and the State Government.

Recall that ILERA EKO Health Insurance plan was launched recently at Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium with the aim of providing quality and affordable healthcare to the Informal sector.
