Ahead of the Lagos East Senatorial and house of assembly election coming up on the 5th of December 2020, the Acting Chairman Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Avm Ahmed Tijani Mu'azu and members of the Commission visited lagos to hold the inter agency consultative committee on election security to confirm the readiness of Lagos State to conduct another credible bye elections after the success recorded in the 2019 general election.
In his welcome address the Resident Electoral Commissioner Inec Lagos State Sam Olumekun said the election of next week are not for the whole of Lagos as voting will only take place in Lagos East senatorial district as the kosofe state constituency II,and at least 3 security personnel would be required to man each of 1928 polling units located in the 5 component LGA's in the senatorial district.
The Co chairman of Inter agency consultative committee on election security, who also doubles as the Commissioner of Police lagos state command Hakeem Odumosu said there will be restriction during the election for the affected areas, and also said all security agencies will be working together with inec for a free,fair and credible election.

The Inec National commissioner and Chairman Information And Voters Education Festus Okoye while addressing journalist said inec had provided necessary equipment for the bye election,and inec will be using their portal for election as being used in Edo and Ondo State election.
The acting chairman of Inec Avm Ahmed Tijani Mu'azu said with what he has heard from the interagency consultative committee on election security,he is confident that the rescheduled bye election will be peaceful and also encouraged the political class and the media to participate in voters mobilization that inec can't do it alone.
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC is committed to conduct a free and fair election in accordance with thier vision and mission.
