The Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), Oyo/Osun Chapter, under the leadership of its Chairperson, Mrs. Omowunmi Adewole, has reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian service through a series of outreach visits to vulnerable groups in society. The Association visited the Ibadan Motherless Babies Home and the House of Providence Special School for Children with Intellectual Disability, where members demonstrated compassion and solidarity with children in need of care and support.
Speaking during the visits, Mrs. Adewole expressed deep appreciation to the National President of COWA, Dr. Mrs. Adeniyi Kikelomo, for her unwavering guidance, support, and exemplary leadership, which continue to inspire members of the Association nationwide. She emphasized that the outreach was aimed at reinforcing the importance of love, care, and inclusion for children in motherless homes and those with special needs.
She further noted that every child deserves an opportunity to grow, thrive, and feel valued in society. According to her, the Association remains guided by the principles of discipline, respect, and selfless service to humanity values that define its identity and align with the noble ideals of the Nigeria Customs Service.
During the visits, the Chairperson presented various gift items to the children at both institutions as part of efforts to support their welfare and development. She also commended the caregivers and management of the homes for their dedication, describing their work as impactful and deserving of recognition.
In furtherance of its welfare initiatives, the Association extended support to widows of Customs officers. Mrs. Adewole presented items to the widows, reaffirming COWA’s commitment to the well-being of officers’ families and ensuring that they are not left behind, reflecting the Association’s inclusive approach to service.
Mrs. Adewole concluded by reaffirming COWA’s resolve to continue making meaningful contributions to society, stressing that even small acts of kindness can create lasting hope and positive change. The outreach visits were marked by goodwill messages, meaningful interactions with beneficiaries, and a renewed commitment by the Association to sustain its humanitarian engagements.
