Mission Africa Organization once again illuminated the spirit of African excellence at the World Wide Mission Recognition Awards (WWMRA) held on November 1, 2025, at the Southern Sun Hotel in Sandton. The prestigious event celebrated individuals whose work continues to inspire progress and unity across the continent.
Among the distinguished honorees was MP Imraan Moosa, a proud son of Lenasia and a lifelong community leader. A respected resident for over 58 years, Moosa first rose to prominence as Chairman of the SRC during the turbulent late 1970s. His legacy extends far beyond politics—he has been a trailblazer in business development, real estate, and youth empowerment under the banner of Al Jama-ah.
Driven by a passion for social upliftment, Moosa continues to mentor and motivate individuals to strive for excellence. His proven record of leadership, including four consecutive electoral victories in Lenasia, reflects his deep commitment to community advancement and human rights advocacy.
Another award recipient, Excellence Igwubor, embodies empowerment through education. As the Founder and CEO of Excell International Beauty Academy (EIBA)—established in 2010—she has built a thriving institution with campuses in Randburg, Pretoria CBD, and Ga-Rankuwa. Through EIBA’s internationally accredited programs, Igwubor equips women and low-income earners with professional skills to thrive in the global beauty industry, turning passion into sustainable careers.
The evening also paid tribute to celebrated actor Luthuli Dlamini, whose decades-long career has left an indelible mark on South African entertainment. Best known for his iconic role as Stan Nyathi, Dlamini’s powerful performances in productions such as Generations, InterSEXions, Rockville, and Uzalo have made him one of the country’s most respected and recognizable talents.
In his remarks, Adasonla, a representative of Mission Africa, emphasized the organization’s vision, “We created a platform through which innovative and developmental projects can provide solutions to the challenges facing our continent. Mission Africa brings together forward-thinking Africans—at home and abroad—to harness the intellectual and economic wealth of our people.”
Mission Africa’s ongoing initiatives include youth orientation and entrepreneurship programs, business development training, skills acquisition projects, professional forums, and free preventive healthcare.
By celebrating visionary leaders, creatives, and changemakers, the WWMRA Awards reaffirm Mission Africa’s commitment to nurturing a new generation of African excellence rooted in unity, innovation, and pride in the motherland.
