Award-Winning SUNU Health CEO, Dr. Patrick Korie and Rev Fr John Okoria SJ Leads Annual Health Walk to Champion Community Wellness and Proactive Healthcare

Dr. Patrick Korie, the celebrated Managing Director and CEO of SUNU Health Nigeria Limited, a leading Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO), personally led the company’s annual Health Walk, demonstrating a commitment to proactive community wellness.

The successful community health initiative, held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, drew hundreds of health enthusiasts and was strategically amplified by the partnership with The Divine Physician & St. Luke Catholic Chaplaincy Centre, LUTH/CMUL, Idi Araba, Lagos.

Rev Fr. John Okoria SJ, the Chaplain of the Centre played a central leadership role alongside Dr. Korie. His active participation reinforced the spiritual and moral commitment to holistic well-being, proving crucial in mobilizing staff and community members, thereby ensuring the vital wellness message reached a broad and deeply engaged audience.

Dr. Korie, recently distinguished as one of “The Industry’s Top 50 Men of Impact 2025” on November 4th, 2025, by The Industry Newspaper, took the front row throughout the walk. He personally charged his team and participants to prioritize lifelong health and wellness.

The health walk covered several major streets in Lagos, starting from Ishaga Road and navigating through Itire Road, Randle Avenue, Akerele, Ogunlana Drive, and Workers Street before concluding back at the starting point. Following the vigorous walk, participants engaged in a session of high-energy aerobics and other outdoor exercises, reinforcing the day’s focus on fitness.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Patrick Korie underscored the company's broader vision; “SUNU Health’s vision extends far beyond merely offering health packages and insurance. We are fundamentally interested in proactive wellness—preventing illness rather than just treating it. This annual exercise is a crucial part of that commitment, and we will continue to champion it for as long as we exist.”

Samuel Olayemi, Brand and Corporate Communications Lead at SUNU Health, highlighted the success of the partnership; “We are delighted to champion this vital health initiative alongside the Catholic Chaplaincy Centre LUTH/CMUL. The turnout was truly delightful, reflecting the community’s deep desire to embrace wellness. Collaborations like this amplify our message and commitment to the Nigerian community.”

SUNU Health Nigeria Limited, a prominent Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO), remains dedicated to promoting healthier lifestyles through initiatives that seamlessly blend corporate commitment with public well-being.
