Hon. Dr. Bayo Adefuye Champions Administrative Excellence in YABA LCDA

 

In a deliberate move to strengthen institutional capacity and deepen administrative efficiency within the local government system, the Executive Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, Hon. (DR.) Bayo Adefuye,has officially declared open a comprehensive In-Plant Training on Public Service Rules at the Council Secretariat, Yaba.

The training, which drew participation from heads of departments, senior officials, and junior staff across various units, underscores the chairman’s unwavering commitment to the Yaba Tuntun Agenda a transformative framework centered on transparency, accountability, professionalism, and community-focused governance.

Delivering his keynote address, Hon. (DR.) Adefuye emphasized that the effectiveness of any public institution is determined by the quality and integrity of its workforce. He described the public service as the “engine room of governance,” noting that when public servants are adequately trained and ethically grounded, service delivery naturally improves and public trust is strengthened.

The Yaba Tuntun Agenda is not merely a slogan; it is structured pathway towards a modern, efficient, and people-oriented local government. This training is therefore a core components of that vision-it equips our staff with the knowledge and discipline required to deliver service with excellence, fairness, and integrity", he stated

The chairman further highlighted that continuous professional development remains an indispensable tool in the pursuit of administrative reform. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to staff welfare, skill enhancement, and digital integration in administrative processes — all critical elements of the Yaba Tuntun reform blueprint.

Hon. (DR.) Adefuye futher assured council staff of the forthcoming distribution of Palliative Tuntun a welfare initiative designed to provide relief and support to all staff members in line with the compassionate vision of the  "Yaba Tuntun Agenda". He emphasized that the gesture reflects his administration’s dedication to improving the well-being of workers while encouraging them to remain diligent and service-driven.

Facilitators at the training session engaged participants in practical discussions on the Public Service Rules, addressing key topics such as conduct and discipline, communication ethics, effective supervision, documentation standards, and the culture of accountability in governance. Participants were encouraged to apply the lessons learned to improve operational efficiency and foster a culture of excellence within their departments.

The Council Manager , in his goodwill message, lauded the initiative as “a visionary and timely response to the evolving demands of public service.” He noted that the training would go a long way in aligning staff behavior with modern administrative expectations.

Similarly, several staff members expressed their appreciation to Hon. (DR.) Adefuye for his visionary leadership and for embedding professional development within the fabric of the council’s governance strategy. They affirmed that the Yaba Tuntun Agenda had not only redefined the culture of service within the LCDA but also restored a renewed sense of pride and purpose among council workers.

The event concluded with a collective reaffirmation of commitment by participants to uphold the tenets of the Public Service Rules and contribute meaningfully to the realization of the Yaba Tuntun Vision — a Yaba that is renewed, forward-looking, and anchored on excellence in public service.
