…Mayor warns against crime in the community…
The Lagos Mainland Local Government, under the leadership of Mayor Emilagba Kolawole Jubril, has commenced the total reconstruction of the Odaliki Police Station. This landmark project is designed to strengthen security in the community, which remains a critical foundation for sustainable development and the protection of lives and property.
In his remarks, Mayor Emilagba expressed deep concern over the dilapidated state of the police station and the challenge of inadequate manpower. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting and equipping the Nigerian Police for effective service delivery. He further disclosed that before the end of the year, patrol vans would be distributed to all police stations within Lagos Mainland Local Government, while manpower support would be extended to the local security apparatus in collaboration with the police.
The Mayor also sounded a strong warning to residents, especially youths, to shun crime, drug abuse, cultism, and all forms of social vices, emphasizing that his administration will continue to provide the necessary infrastructure and support for law enforcement agencies.
The flag-off ceremony was graced by prominent personalities, including APC Apex Leader, Hon. Adewale Oshun, a former Chief Whip of the Federal House of Representatives. Hon. Oshun commended the Mayor’s foresight and achievements, pledging his support for the administration. He equally urged parents to take active roles in the lives of their children while cautioning youths against cultism and hooliganism.
Also in attendance was Chief Oyemade, another Apex Leader, who offered prayers for the success of the project and lauded Mayor Emilagba as a visionary chairman.
Emeritus Chairman, Hon. Larinde, praised the Mayor for the reconstruction of the Odaliki Police Station, describing it as a step towards ensuring safety and security of lives and property.
The Divisional Police Officer of Iponri, CSP Balogun, expressed profound gratitude to the Mayor for the initiative, while appealing for additional police personnel at Odaliki through the Commissioner of Police.
The reconstruction project is being executed by Anif Perfect Solution, under the technical supervision of the Council Engineer, Architect Makinde, who assured that the new facility will meet modern standards.
