Palm Sunday Message: Bishop Adekunle Dawodu Urges Nigerians To Pray For Peace






The Bishop of the African Church Lagos Central Diocese has charged Nigerians to believe and pray for there to be peace in Nigeria and all over the world.


He gave this charge at the annual Palm Sunday celebration of the African Church Bethlehem Cathedral Ebute Metta, Lagos, on the 13th April 2025.



The celebration saw members of the Church in a joyous mood as they were all happy to be part of this year’s celebration with dancing and singing to celebrate the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. 

Bishop Dawodu while speaking with pressmen on the significance of the celebration said that Palm Sunday is very important in christendom  as it marks the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem which goes along with many things that includes;  victory, openness to the authority of the day Jesus expressed himself as the king for his kingdom both in heaven and earth.




He also told people that there is no other way to the father but through that entry of parade.

Dawodu added that there are lot of things to learn, stating that the symbol of palmfront is the sign of victory over obstacles like the economic situation we have in Nigeria that will put an end to them. 




Bishop Dawodu then advised Nigerians that God is in control because Jesus was able to express himself to the world that he is the Messiah.

He is therefore in control of all challenges going on in the country and will be well all over the world and continue to pray because our's is a God of peace.






The Warden of the Cathedral; Mr. Seni Akinola while commenting on the day said the day signify hope and a day all members of the Church look forward to as a day of deliverance of humanity from all their sins and making restitution of the Father, Son relationship between man and God.

He added that the day also signify hope deliverance and affinity of man with his creator.






Akinola stated that Palm Sunday is always a day of celebration because members of the church are always ready to go out enmass and do evangelism for God,he then wished all members and Nigerians filled blessings, as the day's celebration comes with goodness, with Christians looking forward to Easter Sunday Celebration.
