Stanbic IBTC Marks 10th Year Anniversary of 'Together For A Limb Walk',As 36 Beneficiaries Emerges





Stanbic IBTC as part of its Corporate Social Investment project which is an annual walkathon since 2015 to raise awareness about children living with Limb Loss, and also helps underserved children, either born without limbs (congenital) or who have lost their limbs due to trauma (accidents or violence) across Nigeria, get medical prosthetics.

The 2024 edition marks the 10th Year Anniversary with the wife of the Governor of Lagos State in attendance,Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu's in attendance,top government officials and the German consular.

The Chief Executive Stanbic IBTC Dr. Demola Sogunle in his opening remark said this year marks the 10th Year Anniversary seeing the joy and fulfilment the bank brought today in the life of the Beneficiaries, as 36 Beneficiaries all spread across 36 states of the country and will be joining fantastic 100 awesome children that have already benefited from the prosthetics carried out in the past. Sogunle said they want the children to able to belong and fulfill all their aspirations by providing prosthetics for them and as they grow they change the devices to make sure it is fit for the purpose and as they grow in their journey and also give them educational trust which means the bank take care of their educational right up to university level.

Dr.Sogunle then advised the beneficiary that they can fulfill all their aspirations and Stanbic IBTC is willing and ready to support them with interventions and support.


The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu commended the Board and Management of Stanbic IBTC for their selfless service and consistency over the last 10 years in supporting 136 children with limb challenges. She noted that this project will ultimately make life easier for the children and bring succor to their families.

She also emphasized the need for the collective efforts of all stakeholders to curb the barriers faced by people living with disabilities and to create a more inclusive society.


The founder of IfeanHealth Orthopaedics, Ejike Anih said what Stanbic IBTC has done today is a milestone when 36 children from 36 states including Fct and 100 children having their limbs replaced now have a life and go back to school and Stanbic IBTC has been the only bank sponsoring this laudable project. 

It is important to note that the initiative is an Annual Walk, in which staff, friends, family, and the media walk to raise awareness for people living with limb loss.
