Bashir Hedeja not my aide Says Minister of State Defence Bello Matawalle, vows to ensure full investigation





Bello Matawalle, the immediate past governor of Zamfara State and now Hon Minister of State Defence, has said that he would ensure full investigation of Bashir Hadeja, who was arrested early this week for treason, terrorism, transnational and other criminal activities against the nation.

The minister was responding to press questions on the controversy surrounding Bashir Hadeja's involvement in the financing of the recent nationwide #EndBadGovernance, particularly in Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna and Abuja.

Matawalle said no amount of press, blackmail or campaign of columny by some of Bashir Hadeja's accomplish or collaborators, particularly in the online media space who embarked on junk journalism to tarnish the minister's hard earned reputation, could make him abandon the investigation, in view of the and magnitude abd damaging effects of the exhibits found in Bashir Hadeja 's mobile phone and his confessions. 

The minister said he was aware of the collaboration between Bashir Hadeja and some junk and irresponsible journalists who drailed from the centre point of professional journalism and engaged in campaign of columny and extortion journalism where they were paid huge amount of money by their sponsors through Bashir Hadeja and other proxies on several occasions to blackmail him.

He said the suspect, who was found in the possession of a terrifying network of syndicate in committing crimes both within and outside Nigeria, particularly across the 36 states of Nigeria and some West African states, could not be allowed scot-free.

He said the suspect has been making shocking revealations on those involved in sabotaging the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, including some of the so-called journalists with the target of truncating the nation's democracy. 

" We have several increminating and astonishing facts against the suspect, and investigation is currently ongoing, and we will bring to book all those he mentioned during the interrogations to face similar interrogations, " said the minister of state.
