In a disturbing turn of events, Hon Alimi Oluwaremilekun, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the House of Assembly, representing Ijebu East Local Government, was attacked by political thugs during a house-to-house campaign yesterday.
According to eyewitnesses, the thugs, allegedly working for the opposition party, ambushed Hon Alimi and his team while they were engaging with constituents in the area. The attack resulted in injuries as hon Alimi escaped unhurt.
Hon Alimi condemned the violent incident, stating, "This cowardly attack will not deter me from connecting with my people and serving our community. I urge my supporters to remain calm and focused on our mission to bring positive change to Ijebu East."
The incident has been reported to the authorities, and we call on the relevant agencies to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.
