Based on our earlier observations on the need to avert the political armageddon gathering storms in Lagos Mainland due to indisretions or outright oligharchic manipulations by Mainland Political Leadership, we are aware now that moves are being made( by the state leadership of the Party) to approach the matter from a largely lame and predictably, ineffective means ie the idea of inviting and persuading individual 'leaders' to buy into the so called 'State Arrangement'!
This crass naivity and lack of understanding on the part of the State Leadership is little surprising as it in consonance with their disruptive tendencies and inability to call a spade a spade! Blinded by their selfish ambitions, the State have, almost always, underestimated the determination, resilience and even political sophistication of Mainlanders when it comes to insisting on true democracy on matters affecting them! Who is against Governor Sanwoolu's Governorship Ambition in Lagos Mainland? If they exist at all, very infinitesimal, and that should b okay being a democracy! So why gbe eru eleru sori at the possible detriment of your own?
To be sure, calling and holding nocturnal or surreptitious meetings with individual 'leaders' ( who have largely lost their respect, anyways) to do any political joggling with our peoples' interests and political future in the forthcoming state and federal elections, would amount to nothing. In the worst of scenario, the State might even 'burn its fingers'!
At this stage of the struggle, inviting Baba Oshun, Hon Jide Jimoh, Baba Oyemade, Baba Alao, Hon Tunji Bello etc would only amount to shooting in the dark as it is crystal clear to us that even all these so called leaders are only tendering to their prefered aspirants' interests and not interested in hoisting democratic flags or instituting democratic practice in Lagos Mainland Politics! Truth is more than ever before, our people are resolved to take their fate in their hands.
For us the most benign and effective resolution of the matter at hand in Lagos Mainland is ensuring that due process, based on the contitution( that of the Party and Country) and Electoral Act, is followed to the letter producing in the process most popular, most generally acceptable Assembly and House of Reps candidates as well as contributing our quota, as Mainlanders, to ensuring 2nd term for our loveable Governor and preferred Senator. Lobatan. Chikena. You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
This is the best the leadership of the Party can do now in resolving what appears a political logjam in Lagos Mainland in our collective self interest and the larger interest of APC in Lagos State.
