On Friday the 27th of May, 2022,while at the Anglican Primary School, the venue of the primaries for APC aspirants in Apapa constituency ii, an embarrassing incident that could further lead to unrest and breach of peace happened as Muyiwa Jimoh masterminded the impersonation of one of the elected delegates to his favor.
The five wards of Apapa Constituency 2 have 5 delegates each totalling 25 in all. In the days running to the primary election, Hon Lawal Aina Musibau’s camp had kept a total of 13 delegates while that of Hon. Muyiwa Jimoh had the remaining 12 to his camp. Petrified by the impending defeat, Muyiwa Jimoh sponsored series of abduction of at least two of the delegates belonging to HON. Lawal Aina Musibau, but all attempts were repelled.
This desperacy on the part of Muyiwa Jimoh led to the act of flagrant disrespect for the laid down principles and ethics of APC, thereby disenfranchising an authentic delegate by name ADIO TAOFEEK IBRAHIM who came to the venue with 5 unassailable forms of Identity cards – permanent voters card, APC membership card, National Identification Number slip, an ATM card and a Lagos State Residents’ card.
The imposter presented to disrupt the peaceful process goes by the name ISIAKA AJAO but then came to the venue brandishing a party membership card and a permanent voters card bearing ADIO TAOFEEK IBRAHIM.
To avoid disruption of the exercise, the party leaders and security operatives in their wisdom decided and agreed to handover both the impersonator and the delegate impersonated to the police for proper investigation of the incident, after which the authentic of the two will be availed the opportunity to cast his vote as the 25th delegate.
This incident led to a reduction in the number of delegates listed for the primary and a tie of 12 votes apiece between Hon Lawal Aina Musibau and Honourable Jimoh Olumuyiwa Wahab was recorded.
After a thorough investigation on the impersonator and the impersonated, ISIAJA AJAO later confessed to the crime, citing monetary promises from Hon Muyiwa Wahab Jimoh and Hon. Funmilayo Akande Muhammad has the only reason that spurred him into such regrettable action. He also made it known that the forged documents bearing ADIO TAOFEEK IBRAHIM were presented to him by one of the aides of Hon. FUNMILAYO AKANDE MUHAMMAD.
It is important to add at this juncture that Muyiwa Jimoh his famous for acts that could be said to be dishonorable as he had in time past unleashed anti graft agencies on the leadership of Lagos State House of Assembly, an act he sponsored to unseat the incumbent Speaker. Muyiwa Jimoh also forged the list of ward executives that emanated from the last ward congresses of the APC, bearing in mind that the alterations he orchestrated would give him a smooth sail to his inordinate ambition back to the House a fourth term,As at press time all attempts to get reactions of both the lawmaker and the chairman was unsuccessfully as both didnt pick calls nor return messages sent to enquire
