The case instituted against Governor of Zamfara State by INCORPORATED TRUSTEES OF MEDIA RIGHTS AGENDA suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1357/2021 has been struck out. The Applicant on behalf of media users filed a case challenging the action of His Excellency, Bello Muhammed Matawallen Maradun Governor of Zamfara State for shutting down ALL NETWORK in the state in order to fight insecurity.
The counsel to the Governor of Zamfara State, J.J Usman SAN challenged the territorial jurisdiction of the court and urged the court to transfer the matter to Gusau, Zamfara State since all the facts which gave rise to the instant suit occurred in Zamfara State. In a dramatic manner the counsel to the Applicant submitted that she has never been to Zamfara and nothing will take her to Zamfara as a result she applied to withdraw the case. consequently, the matter was struck out by
Justice Egwuatu of the Federal High Court 9, Abuja .
