Lions Club District 404B2 Donates to Peadiatric Department of LASUTH

In a bid to complement government's effort to make healthcare more accessible to the general public the Lion's Club District 404B2 in partnership with Miracle Heart Foundation visited the Management of LASUTH to donate their quota in the Peadiatric department on Wednesday, 5th of January, 2021.

The Chief Medical Director, Professor Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, in his address, appreciated the Club for their contributions over the years as he noted that the Lions Club has been in partnership with the hospital for a long time. He mentioned that the Club has made donations of buildings which houses the Diabetes Clinic, Oncology Unit and support with the hospital’s annex in Gbagada.

The CMD said that the hospital is at a stage of the development that requires a lot of partnerships because the government alone cannot do everything; therefore, collaborations are welcomed at this time.
Prof. Fabamwo also noted that the Lions Club of Ilupeju is working with the hospital to put up a storey-building in the hospital and also extending the Eye Institute in the hospital.

While giving his remark, the Governor, Lions Club District 404 B2, Lion Kayode Osinuga expressed his happiness on the Club’s partnership with LASUTH as the CMD noted what the Lions Club has done over the years.

He said the Club decided to spread its tentacles further in offering assistance in the hospital and that formed their decision to reach out to the Peadiatrics Unit, knowing fully well that attention is usually on newborns at the beginning of the year. He mentioned that a ‘need’ assessment was done to know what kind of assistance is needed.

He said that the Club in collaboration with ‘Miracle Caring Heart Foundation’ has provided rechargeable fans, bed sheets, school bags for children of school age and cash gift for some of the indigent patients in the Peadiatric wards to pay their bills.

Also present at the event were, Director Clinical Services & Training, Prof. Adebowale Adekoya; Director, Hospital Administration & Human Resources, Mr. Kehinde Gbajumo; Director Nursing Services, Mrs. Adebola Aina; Lion Schola Braimoh, Lion Matilda Braimoh, Lion Kemi Eribake, Lion Akintola Olugbenga , Lion Raji Babatunde , Lion Prince Mark Ebere, Lion, Clemb Uzoegwu, Lion Dr Kelechi Onyedi, Leo Tolulope Eribake, Lion Olajide Sofela, Lion Olude Alakhuime, Lion Willey Abiodun , Lion Funmi Ajayi and Lion Pat Ebun Aina.
