He was peace-driven, he'll be greatly missed - Shina Peller mourns Olubadan

A federal lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Oyo state, Honourable Shina Peller, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the entire people of Oyo state on the passing away of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Adetunji, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, who joined his ancestors today.

Honourable Peller described the late Oba Adetunji as a peace-driven monarch whose contribution to the peaceful coexistence of the people of Ibadan and Yorubaland was remarkable.

His statement read below:

"My heartfelt condolences to the entire people of Oyo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria at large on the passing away of one of our revered royal fathers in Yorubaland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Adetunji, the Olubadan of Ibadan.

"Moreover, what I adored so much about the late revered Oba was the fact that he was a peace-driven monarch who would always give his royal blessings and support to anything that has to do with security and peace. Recall that he was phisycally present at the National Security and Peace Symposium held in Ibadan last year in celebration of my 45th birthday.

"Undoubtedly, Oba Adetunji's exit will be greatly felt by us all, and we pray that his soul finds peace with God. We also pray that God consoles his family, members of the Olubadan-in-Council, his subjects and the entire people of Yorubaland. Amen."
