Very. Revd. Adeleke Preaches Need For Peaceful Cohabitation Among Christian Faithfuls, Urges Intensification In Making Nation Great

The need to intensify efforts towards nation building for a more viable habitable and peaceful cohabitation have been addressed by the  Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Christian Matters Very.Revd Bukola Adeleke.

Adeleke  appealed to churches in Nigeria that Irrespective of their denomination,Structure and Background, it must ensure that they intensify efforts in making sure the nation is habitable for all and peaceable Coexistence.

He made this assertion while speaking on the theme, "Does the church have a role to play in Nation building", organized by Judah magazine at the prestigious university of Lagos Chapel Akoka.

During his presentation, Adeleke said the church can play a pivotal role in supporting communities in helping to provide support for the needy,home for the homeless, creche facilities, Adult education classes,and charity events .


He said the church have the responsibility to lend their voices to issue of corruption, injustice,impunity, and other evils in the land to remind the political leaders of what is right.

He went further by saying the church is saddled with the responsibility of contributing their quota in building a united nation.

He then concluded that the core moral values to be promoted by the church in today's society are discipline, love, gentleness, loyalty, honesty, integrity, Godliness, contentment, uprightness and the fear of God.

The convener of the program Mr Oluwakayode who is also the managing editor of Judah Magazine while speaking to Dconnectnews said it discovered that the church is not living up to its expectations.

It stressed that having spoken to some Pastors, it discovered that the church is teaching the word, but it is not doing enough followup, and also it has failed to caution the government  when it isn’t doing the right thing.
