...Governor Akeredolu To Deliver Keynote Address

Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (Cowlso) a community based gender organisation designed principally to complement the efforts of Lagos State Government in bringing about exponential development,growth and generally improving the welfare of Lagos oraganized the 21st National Women’s Conference in Victoria Island Lagos.
The Conference with the theme "Awake" had in attendance the first lady of Nigeria Her Excellency Aisha Buhari represented by the Special Adviser to the President on women affairs Dr Rukayat Gore,Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, South West Governor Wives and Many others.
The First of Nigeria Her Excellency Aisha Buhari represented by Dr. Rukayat Gore while delivering her Goodwill message she encouraged first ladies to adopt the conference as inspirational and exemplary and encouraged the Governor's to support their Wives more.
As a woman their role in governance is important as they must all use their mothers role and experiences to facilitate greater decision making expecially in the areas of educating children and supporting men to greater decisions for the Nation.
The Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu delivering his goodwill message said the women has choose the right topic as the theme of the conference and they should brace up to the 21st Century and be Awake out the challenges we pass thru last year.
He also Charge them to look at the activities and put more resilience to have a new approach in doing things. He said their Administration will make sure that women take their rightful leadership position to continue in the greater Lagos Agenda.
The Lagos State First Lady and Chairman of Colwso Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu said the conference is a platform for women not just in Lagos but from over the country and beyond the shores to come together to share experiences and insights on modern day issues affecting women, men,children, youths,the home front and the society in general.
She said at the end of the conference a communique will be appropriately articulate the deliberation,and proffer insightful recommendations that will result to actionable initiatives.
The Special Guest of Honour Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN during his keynote said there is need for educated women to start taking the issue of participating in politics very seriously. He challenged the women that they should embrace politics because men has not lead this country in the right way.
He said women should not just be singing at political gatherings but they should participate and women in needed in the leadership role in the country.
Awards were given to inspirational women in the society and inspirational youth award presented to Asisat Oshoala.
