… Declares Readiness to Collaborate on Improving Service Delivery in Education Sector

 

The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) has expressed its readiness to cooperate and collaborate with the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) in its determination to enhance educational service delivery in Lagos State.

 

Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King, Chairman of LASUBEB, disclosed this when the management team from the College paid an official visit to the Board’s Head Office in Maryland, Ikeja, noting that the institution is recognised as one of the pioneer colleges of education in Nigeria.

 

He applauded the quality of graduates trained by the institution, which contributes to the pool of resourceful and knowledgeable teachers in the State workforce, towards the development of Basic Education in Lagos State.

 

The Chairman stated that the major focus of the present Board of LASUBEB is to transform the education system through infrastructural renewal and maintenance, teachers’ capacity development and digital technology amongst others. 

 

“For us to have a collective impact there must be a collective vision, shared goals which is what we are doing today, we are ready to work with you and learn from you”, he added.

 

In her remark, Professor Bilikis Bidemi Lafiaji-Okuneye, Provost of AOCOED and leader of the visiting delegation, thanked the Chairman for the warm welcome and applauded the Board for recognising the institution as one of the pioneers of colleges of education in the country, while aligning with its vision and mandate.

 

She stated that the purpose of the visit was to foster continued synergy between AOCOED and the Board as a critical stakeholder, particularly in the areas of continuous capacity development of teachers for effective teaching and learning outcomes in the State.
