...Ebonyi is now 99.9% APC as over 4 million Ebonyians defects from PDP to APC
The Chairman of Southeast Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi state, Engr. David Umahi, FNSE, FNATE has called on his supporters not to castigate the state’s National Assembly members and others who did not defect with him from PDP to the APC.
Umahi gave the charge in Abakaliki during his formal declaration for APC in the presence of the party’s National Caretaker Chairman, MAI MALA BUNI and five progressive governors, including, governor of Kebbi state, Niger, Plateau and Jigawa among other top Party stalwarts.
Governor Umahi, while declaring for APC, said that Ebonyi is presently 99.9 percent APC as he left the remainder for the national assembly members among other nondefectors.
“Do not castigate them because they are looking for something and will come back when they get it, they are my children and I love them very much as the father of the state.
He said that the deputy governor, speaker of the House of Assembly, 110 state executive council members, 1,200 executive assistants, senior technical assistants and technical assistants, 374 LGA liaison officers and about 3 million Ebonyians are together in the agreement.
“We also have 400 members of boards and commissions, 560 LGA management committee members, 130 LGA supervisors, the entire chairmen of the 13 LGAs, party chairmen in the councils areas, all the state legislators among others are in this movement.
He urged political stakeholders in the southeast zone to move en masse to the APC because it is time for the zone to move to the centre.
The National APC Caretaker Chairman and also governor of Yobe state, congratulated Governor Umahi and his teeming supporters for joining the party and urged him to carry everyone along.
“Your entrance into the party is timely, coming at a time we are rebuilding the party with reconciliation and about to commence membership registration.
The Ebonyi state Deputy Governor, Dr. Kelechi Igwe, said that the governor informed him of his decision to join APC and he did not waste time in accepting to move with him.
Top party stalwarts, including the former Senate President, and member, APC National caretaker committee, Senator Ken Nnamani gave their goodwill messages.
The occasion also witnessed the inauguration of 15 Ebonyi, a newly constituted state caretaker committee, led by Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha by the national caretaker committee Chairman,MAI MALA BUNI.
