TOKUNBO ABIRU MEETS EPE LGA POLITICAL AND COMMUNITY LEADERS




The All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for the October 31st Lagos East Senatorial District rerun election, Mr Tokunbo Abiru today paid a courtesy visit to the Leaders of the APC in Epe Local Government Area comprising Epe Local Government, Eredo Local Council Development Area and Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area. The event kicked off with a minute silence for Late Senator Bayo Osinowo whose death on  June 15th created a vacuum at the upper house.

Mr Tokunbo Abiru who was received by the Party leaders, current political office holders, past office holders and party faithfuls at the residence of the Party's Apex Leader in Epe Division and Member, Governor's Advisory Council Members, Alhaji Akanni Seriki (Bamu) appreciated the leaders and party faithfuls for affirming his candidature as APC'S flagbearer during the party's primary held September 3rd. He pledged his loyalty to the party and the people in appreciation of their trust in him. He said his 30 years experience in banking will be brought on board to ensure he delivers in office. He lamented the poor state of the Epe - Ikorodu road and promised to ensure the attention of the Government is brought to fix it and other roads in the Senatorial District as they are key to improving the socio-economic life of residents.


 Mr Abiru promised to embark on poverty alleviation for the people as he plans to setup a foundation that will set out reduce poverty to the barest minimum by banking on his network and influence gathered during his Professional career in the private sector.

Alh Seriki Akanni welcomed Mr Tokunbo Abiru to Epe and promised the unalloyed support of the people of Epe. He urged party faithfuls to turn out enmass to vote and shun  violence during the forth coming election.

The Member representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Services Committee, Hon Wale Raji in his remarks promised the unity of purpose of the people of Epe. Hon Raji said he is optimistic that the average voting figure of 35000 recorded in Epe Federal Constituency will be doubled during the Senatorial rerun election. He however urged the state Government to fix the access roads leading to Epe to compensate the loyalty of the people to the party and the Government overtime.


The Legislator representing Epe Constituency 2 at the State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on SDGs, Hon Ogunkelu Sylvester promised to deliver all the 150 polling units in Epe Constituency 2 to the tune of 90% per polling unit.

The Chairman, House Committee on Works and Legislator representing Epe Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Tobun Biodun promised to canvass youth groups, artisans and other groups to vote and deliver during the polls.

The Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon Saliu Adeniyi who spoke on behalf of other Chairmen present promised the support of the people and urged him to note the request pushed forward by Hon Wale Raji.

The Chairman of the APC, Lagos East Senatorial Campaign team, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya who spoke on behalf of the campaign team thanked the people for their support so far. He however urged Epe residents to ensure they double the last voting figure recorded during the last election.

The event also had in attendance Alhaji Bode Oyedele, Hon Sanai Agunbiade, Hon Alabi Kolade David,  Hon Rotimi Abiru, Hon Akinsola Adebimpe, Hon Ayo Odeyemi, Hon Adeola Kuponiyi, Hon Onanuga Samson,  Hon Bola Gbabijo, Hon Lanre Odubote, Hon Segun Olulade, Otunba Bode Alausa, Alh Ramota Bankole, Chief GA Olayemi, Alh Ganiu Akintola, Alh Allison, Hon 9Banto Hassan, Bar Tunde Seriki, Alh Hakeem Shittu, Hon Segun Agbaje, Hon Omolaja Sabiu, Hon Johnbull Adebanjo and a host of other present and past political office holders and party faithfuls in attendance.



The team thereafter moved to the Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija palace where they were received by the Lagos East Forum of Ijebu Traditional Rulers who were holding their routine meeting. The Oloja of Epe Land appreciated the party for putting forward a quality candidate with untainted record. The Royal Fathers urge him to ensure he puts the love of the masses first at all times. They collectively rendered prayers for his success at the polls.

In his response to the Royal Fathers, Mr Tokunbo Abiru said he is Keen on tackling poverty and improving the livelihood of the people of Lagos East. He urged the royal father's to mobilize their people to ensure we speak to the centre to show the Southwest is ready for 2023.
